At the south end of Tallow Beach and protected from southerlies by the point
and Cocked Hat Rock is Broken Head. “Broken” often turns on great hollow

tallow beach
At the top end of this
arc of beach is Cape Byron. Nestled under the Capes cliff is Cosy Corner which is
sheltered from the northeasterly winds which are common in summer. The surf here can be
sensational but is only for experienced surfers. Swimmers should beware of strong rips.

wategos beach

the pass
The Pass is a world famous surf break and magnificent beach.
The view from the lookout will take your breath away. The surf is at times
perfect. Crowds are a big problem and when the surf is good the Pass is for
experienced surfers only. Swimmers here should look out for surfers, dive
boats and the strong sweep.

main beach
More than a beach, Main Beach is Byron Bay.
Everyone who visits Byron Bay goes to Main Beach at some stage. A
magnificent stretch of white sand looking out towards Julian Rocks and
backed by the beautiful Nightcap Range and Mount Warning in the distance.
However, it is the mix of people that really makes Main Beach.
